Tinder Tips such as taking great pictures, and sending a good first message is no different from other online dating platforms. But how to use Tinder most effectively has some tricks you might not know about.
As curious professionals here at Personal Dating Assistants, we’ve learned how to use Tinder by managing profiles for hundreds of our members.
We’ve also hacked investigated how the enigmatic Tinder algorithm works behind the scenes.
How to use Tinder best? Here are our top 7 Tinder Tips;
1. Delete, and Re-Create Your Tinder Profile
You might not know how using Tinder as a new user grants a special boost. That’s because they want Tinder users to have an exciting first impression. By giving new accounts preferential placement in swipe queues, new Tinder users get seen more frequently by existing Tinder users, resulting in more match opportunities.
You can claim this visibility bonus for yourself every few weeks by navigating to “app settings” -> “delete account” within the Tinder app. By deleting your existing profile, and re-creating it from scratch, you’ll be flagged as a spanking new user, and the sparkling new profile bonus will be bestowed upon ye. The drawback, is that deleting your existing Tinder profile will also delete your existing matches on Tinder. So don’t do this if you’ve still got quality matches in play!
2. Use a funny AND flirty first message
To distinguish yourself from the dozens, possibly hundreds of other guys that she’s already matched with on Tinder, you need to stand out from the crowd, and you need to do it quickly. Because attention spans are shorter on Tinder, so is your window of opportunity. You need to move faster towards getting her number here, compared to traditional dating sites. The best way to do this, is to make her FEEL something. And the best way to do that, is to be relentlessly funny, and flirt mercilessly.
Many women don’t even bother filling out the bio section on Tinder. But in reality, you have plenty of material to work with, just via her name, dating pictures, and job. Here’s a few examples, based on beer girl pictured above;
"Wow. Nice green eyes & hair Ariel"
Even better if her eyes are blue, or her hair looks brown in person. She’ll feel compelled to correct you, making her quite likely to respond. Anything that gets her invested in the conversation is always a good thing. Typing her name makes the initial ice breaker more personal.
“I’m not sure that black dress is safe for tindering. Good thing we’re lovers in app only. Offline we’d make everyone at that park jealous.”
Compliments her style, signals sexual interest, establishes a safe boundary for her to flirt behind, is humorous, and will spark her emotions. Calling out her location in her photo gives her an opportunity to talk about it.
“Looks like you love drinking beer. A girl after my own heart. Just promise not to get me too drunk and take advantage of me.”
Establishes a common interest, and a funny role reversal; making her out to be the sexual aggressor.
“Also says you work at a school? If you were my teacher, I’d totally flirt with you.”
Introduces a funny, flirty roleplay power angle (with her in charge, to feel comfortable) which she can ping off of.
3. Travel…Anywhere
If you’ve ever traveled to a new city and opened Tinder, you may have noticed a jump in your Tinder matches.
It’s no coincidence. Similar to the boost for new Tinder users, the matching algorithm gives a boost to people who are swiping from a new location (physical location only; GPS location spoofing, and Tinders own “passport” paid feature don’t provide the same effect).
Because of this travel boost, a common misconception guys have is, “wow, this new city is so much better for Tinder than where I live!”. But in reality, this boost period is short lived. After a few days to a week, your match frequency on Tinder will settle back down to normal.
4. Create More Than 1 Tinder Account
Online dating is like fishing. Your dating profile is the bait. 1 dating profile = 1 line in the water. Why not double your match chances with a second profile? Or third?
Running multiple dating profiles on Tinder allows you to A/B split test the effectiveness of different angles, lead photos, and bios. At the same time.
For example, you could try one profile rocking a suit, with a bio about international travel, fine wine, and tickets to the opera in search of a date with a great dress. While on your second Tinder profile, you can try leading with a photo of you & a cute pet, with a bio written by said pet, ie;
“Hi. I’m making this Tinder profile for my human, Joe. Shh, he’s still asleep. He enjoys long walks at the dog park. As far as humans go, he’s pretty ok. If you guys match…we never had this conversation.”
To made an additional Tinder profile, you’ll need to create an additional Facebook account. 1 for each profile. Not to mention, logging in & out of multiple Tinder profiles can be a tedious, time consuming process. Which leads us to…
5. Outsource Your Tinder Efforts to Personal Dating Assistant
Let’s face it. Managing communication to get consistent in-person dates from Tinder can be a part time job.
If you’re thinking about getting serious, as far as Tinder tips go, outsourcing to a PDA can help manage communication with all your matches.
Because a consistent effort is the most important aspect of online dating success, a Personal Dating Assistant makes that effort FOR you. Resulting in more phone numbers, and fewer missed opportunities.
6. Use the Super Like Feature
This Tinder tip is unlocked when you buy Tinder Plus. It costs $9.99 – $19.99 per month, depending on your age, and the city in which you are located.
Clicking Super Like places your profile at the top of her swipe queue. This gives you a much better chance of matching with any given girl. However, your profile is still in competition with all the other guys who also clicked Super Like on her.
So how do you get the best shot at matching with the top women on Tinder?
7. Get TurboBoost for Tinder
