The dating pictures you select are the most important part of your profile.
I know what you’re thinking; “tell me something I don’t know”.
With that in mind, here are our top tips on taking dating pictures that have the best chance at getting a response.
1. Work with a professional
Most guys don’t do this. And most guys don’t have success with online dating. Don’t be like most guys. Be different and stand out.
Reaching out to a professional photographer is a big step, but it means you’re finally getting serious about your online dating efforts.
That said, working with any old headshot photographer isn’t gonna cut it. Which leads us to:
1b. Work with a professional who “gets” online dating photography
Finding someone who takes headshots is easy. But there are only a handful of photographers in each city who really “get” online dating pictures for men. Here at Personal Dating Assistants, we’ve already identified who these people are. For our members, we make referrals personally.
For the day of your shoot, bring 2 outfits. An uptown look (sharp suit or jacket, no tie), and a downtown look (leather jacket, t-shirt, jeans).
2. Do something interesting
A picture of you doing something interesting should capture the viewers imagination. It should make her wonder what it is, why it is, or how you’re doing it. Changing the crop settings on a picture can shift the focus point from you, to the interesting thing or activity in question, which stands out as different. Leaving her eager to know more.
3. Don’t look at the camera
Intentionally looking away from the camera, is straight up game. It changes the conversation completely, from you selling yourself, to her observing from afar. This is the way women stealth-check out men naturally, in the real world. A good thousand yard stare will draw a woman in. Subconsciously, it makes the more attractive girls imagine “why is this guy different?”
4. Squinch your eyes
Squinching your eyes is a showcase of total confidence. To execute the technique properly, you want to shift your lower eyelids up, while keeping your upper eyelids and eyebrows mostly steady. Throw in a half smirk for supreme bad ass.
These techniques are a lot to keep in mind all for 1 picture, but statistically speaking, doing 1 or any of these last 3 things will give you the highest chance of a response.
5. Don’t take your own word for it. Get a second, and third opinion.
Here at Personal Dating Assistants, all Member photos are vetted by our internal scoring & selection process, voted on by real women. Getting multiple female opinions is invaluable, especially for choosing your lead pic. Whatever you do, find out which of your pictures looks most attractive from people other than yourself. For men selecting which online dating pictures to use, never trust your own biased judgement.
6. Pictures are important. But they’re not everything.
You still need to put in a massive effort to get consistent results. But working with a pro, being prepared for your shoot, and following these tips will put you ahead of most other guys out there on the dating sites.
